From the hearts and hearths of Mark, Andrew, Paul, Andy, and David (when he's not way away in the land called Michigan), flows the sound that carves out the Busy World's unique musical niche in the stony facade of indie rock. All of our lives and loves, our influences and impulses permeate the poetic melodies and prosaic honesty of our music. The sincerity in each line we write directs us away from the ubiquitous redundancy and shapelessness of so much of the music of our generation. Fanfares of intricate complexity and rich instrumentation contrast moments of delicate intimacy.
Andrew, who previously played music with Derek and Trevor, felt the music magic with Mark the first time their guitars combined to form Captain Melody. As time passed and friends moved, Paul and Andy completed the core roster of the band and created the musical structure with their unequivocal talent and creativity. Dave, a natural virtuoso, adds textured layers of sound to the music with his accordion.
The music becomes a lifestyle, more than just something we have fun with twice a week. With much practicing, writing, recording, playing shows, going to shows, and spending time with other bands and musicians, the Busy World seeks to break from conventions and embrace the North Carolina music community.

Many of you, my dear friends, have asked me how JJ is doing. I figured it would be easier just to let you all know this way. I'm caring for him like a sick child nearly 24 hours a day. I don't get much sleep (I'm not complaining) these days so I often forget to get back to you as I have limited computer time as well. It's not that I don't read your messages or think about what wonderful friends God has blessed me with. I truly enjoy hearing from you and love getting messages, comments and emails. I do want you to know that if I don't reply right away I will as soon as I get a chance. I love each of you dearly and thank you so much for everything.
We need many, many prayers for JJ. Prayers were answered for Winston (and continue to be) and without you I don't know if he'd be here with us today.

I am truly blessed with the gift of your friendship. I'm very sorry that I haven't been in touch like I should have lately. With all that has been going on with Winston I have not gotten too many chances to be online. The weeks have really gone by fast. I praise God so much that Winston is improving and is almost back to 100%. Now we’re going through an uncertain future with JJ as he remains in ICU at the animal hospital. Hopefully everything will be fine and back to normal soon. Will you please keep our family in your prayers? Thank you for understanding and continuing to be my friend.
