The Minneapolis based Buzzard Brothers come together in the summer of 2007 and look to soar in 2008. The Buzzard Brothers are a unique bunch of guys brought together because of a common bond, music....namely country music.
Experience abounds with these Buzzards, as each member has played extensively with their respective bands for years, but it was country music that brought these five guys together. "We always came back to country," says guitarist/songwriter Zak Norton, referring to his relationship with lead vocalist L.D. "We have both done different style music, but when it came right down to it, we always gravitated back to 'good ol' boy' country," claims Norton. "It's gotten to the point where mainstream country music isn't really country anymore, and it's sad. I want to help people remember where country music came from and show them that country isn't supposed to be glamorous, but maybe a little rough around the edges," adds L.D.
The sound, songs, and stage show that The Buzzard Brothers offer is one that can connect with most anyone in some way. With a sound that lends itself to Hank Williams Sr. and Jr., Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, George Jones, David Allen Coe to name a few, listeners of most any music will be familiar with the Buzzards' sound. Norton also has the uncanny ability to reach inside people and click with them on some level with his music. Songs about love, lost love, broken hearts, breaking hearts, etc. and are sure to either give you a chuckle, or in some way, take you somewhere you have been before. The live show is also one which these Buzzards pride themselves on. "Too many musicians forget that they are there to both play music and at the same time, entertain an audience," says L.D., "I want to give people something that they aren't necessarily going to get everyday, especially with country music."
Be sure to watch for The Buzzard Brothers' next show at a venue near you. Show dates will be posted as soon as they are available.
