The Cairos - Lost At Sea (Whales)/ Live
With a room now full of punters and anticipation, The Cairos take to the stage with the title track for their new EP, ‘Lost At Sea’. It’s taken the entire night but finally people are pushing for the stage, with good reason too as vocalist Alistar Richardson is brimming with confidence already and it’s making for a great spectacle. BC is pulverising the skins, while Alfio Alivuzza and Sean Caskey lash their guitars with vigour.
- MARK BERESFORD (Time Off Magazine)
The Cairos have been getting some buzz around Brisbane for over a year and so have wisely figured now is a good time to release their debut EP. It certainly capitalises on said buzz by building on their poppier take on post-punk tropes with Aria Award-winning producer Magoo and representing their strongest collection of songs at the peak of their profile in the local scene.
- WHOTHEHELL.NET
"By the time The Cairos walk on stage The Zoo is considerably more full and, at around the half way-point, drummer BC is shirtless and the ‘Sold Out’ signs are finally hung on the door – no small feat for a band launching their debut EP at a respectable mid-level venue. If the attendance alone wasn’t enough to signal the anticipation for The Cairos then the applause they receive as they launch in to the EP title track, ‘Lost At Sea,’ confirms that they’ve already won a hoard of fans before playing a single note."
- Matt Hickey (www.thevine.com.au)
"Experienced producer Magoo has helped guide the band's debut EP - from which this song comes. But that's to take nothing away from the confidence the band oozes on this highlight track off it."
Four teenagers going by the name of The Cairos. We've played with The Temper Trap, Wolf and Cub, Bertie Blackman, Red Riders, Yves Klein Blue, Mercy Arms, The Scare, John Steel Singers, The Holidays, Philadelphia Grand Jury + many more. Debut Ep out May 16th.
Aw, yup they were pretty great I have to say! Despite their age they still have it :) Art belted out Bridge Over Troubled Water..showing that he can still cope in that high register! Ali will enjoy it I'm sure, it's just a whole tonne of familiar songs
Anyway, I hope you got enough sleep Alfiooo..today I guiltily woke up at midday, and I didn't go out last night. Poor form.
And ja of course we will all catch up when you make it down in a couple of months - you can have a mini tour around the sweet places and alleys in the city down here :)
