The Cameleonz consists of Marcus Birks and Lis Lawrence; they formed in July 2006, to set a new chapter for the world of music.
The Stoke on Trent act are set to be the next big thing, following in the footsteps of Robbie Williams.
In this time they have gigged alongside the likes of ‘Shayne Ward’, ‘Simon Webb’, ‘Status Quo’, ‘The Drifters’, ‘MPV’, ‘Chico’, ‘Mark Rhead’, and many more, they were also the official support act on the ‘Leon Jackson’, and ‘Same Difference’ UK tour 2009.
They have performed on events all over the U.K building a new following of fans (friends).
In this time they have written over an albums worth of original songs and mastered one titled ‘Should I Stay’ which was their debut single released on 22nd June 2009 selling over 10,000 copies.
They have been performing in pubs, clubs, schools, night clubs, under 18 nights, radio road shows and other events promoting their material.
Venues and events include ‘The Buxton Pavilion’, ‘Crime Stopper’s snap tour’, ‘Battersea Park’, ‘The Amazing Great Children’s Party’, ‘Butlins Breaking Acts Tour’, ‘Pride Events’, Theatres, Festivals and many more.
The Cameleonz also entered ‘Britain’s Got Talent 2008’ winning the vote of all three judges getting them to the later stages of the competition.
Simon Cowel quoted that their song ‘Should I Stay, was a great song with good structure’.
In April 2008 they filmed their first music video to their debut single ‘Should I Stay’, featuring a cameo role from ‘Pete Williams’ (Conway) the father of Stoke on Trent’s very own superstar ‘Robbie Williams’.
The video was also nominated for ‘Limelight Film and Arts Awards 2009’, for best music video.
The Cameleonz have worked extensively with photographer ‘Tony Wooliscroft’, who has shot for the likes of ‘Kerrang magazine’, ‘The Foo Fighters’, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers’, ‘Girls Aloud’, ‘Steven Gerrard’, and many more.
They were tipped for the top by ‘The People’s Newspaper’, complemented as two of the best singers in Stoke on Trent by ‘Jonathon Wilkes’, and ‘Robbie William’s’ dad has quoted that the Cameleonz are one of ‘the best new UK acts’.
They now plan to release their second single for England in the World Cup 2010 called Da Da Da Let England Lead The Way in May 2010.
They are currently working on new material with a Rockabilly twist to bring something new to the world of music.
