   About The Beacon

We’re all about H.O.M.E. (Helping Our Musicians Entertain). The Cameron Music Group is many things, but above all consists of three musical entities:

Carla Cameron - singer/songwriter/performer – following her debut solo album Shatterdays - which was released at the legendary Antone’s in January 2008 - Carla’s creative inspiration and vision for the Cameron Music Group is as real as the heartfelt music she produces. Carla’s industry experience, which crosses all facets of the creative musical process from songwriting to executive producer, has positioned her ideally to forge ahead with that very vision. She is now writing and producing the next project to begin in 2010. More info: www.carlacameron.com

Stephen Cameron - World renowned and champion Scottish Highland drummer and instructor, Stephen has brought his blend of Scottish Pipe Band drumming and Irish percussion to bear in his instruction techniques, and is proudly performing his duties as the current Texas combined Emergency Services Honor Guard Pipes drumming instructor. The Beacon- a brand new house concert venue at the H.O.M.E of Stephen and Carla Cameron. Aligning with Nikko Films (www.nikkofilms.com), every band will have an opportunity to have their show filmed and edited, enjoy some home cooked food, and allow their fans to get up close and personal while exposing themselves to a demographic of folks that love to support musicians.

Many years of writing, composing, collaborating, performing, and exerting influence in their respective musical genres worldwide have led Stephen and Carla to the realization that bringing things close to H.O.M.E. is absolutely the right thing to do. Tough economic times are obviously upon us, and the story from the street is that it’s a game of survival. With our BYOB and a covered dish approach to the night out, The Beacon is focused primarily on delivering value. Eliminate the mileage to downtown, parking fees, inflated drinks prices and cover charges, the verdict from our fans, students, and patrons is unanimous………Cameron Music Group works!! The focus isn’t on the liquor sales or bodies in the building, it’s about the straight up support of the artists, and we encourage our guests to show their support by purchasing the band’s merchandise. The private, intimate setting of The Beacon on the outskirts of Austin is ideal and cost effective for the fans and artists to enjoy that which has become synonymous with downtown Austin over the years – music! Bands have a financial guarantee, the private guest lists enjoy our ‘A-Listers’ on stage and share an intimate supper club-type setting that is unrivaled in Austin or surrounding areas. It’s 2 ½ acres of Texas where industry meets people, where seasoned industry professionals meet solid songwriters and where world champions meet beginners on The Beacon stage. Bottom line, Cameron Music Group is as unique as it gets in the Texas music scene.

There's a tremendous amount of excitement about "The Beacon" and we're excited to open May 9th. Don't forget you can bring your own chair, beverage, and food to share if you like. Kick back, relax, and most of all you'll have a chance to show your support for some of Austin's finest musicians.
We're only bringing the BEST!!!!
