A huge welcome to the myspace site of The Caravinagres, a band that represents better than any other that we know the multiplicity of identities present in the city of Pamplona/Irunea. The band was formed in February 2007 and was comprised of Paul, Bob and original member Steven Smith. The name was Bob’s idea. They spent most of the first year writing and rehearsing and played a first gig at the Singular in Pamplona after recruiting drummer Jon Iriarte. Paul and Jon were finalists in the University of Navarra’s Songwriting Contest in 2008. The band recorded their first EP in Estudios K, and promoted it with radio and TV appearances including ‘Gente Candela’ for Canal 4 and ‘San Fermín, San Fermín’ and ‘Abierto por Vacaciones’ for Canal 6. This was followed by gigs at the Onki Xin, the first with new guitarist Mario Ramos, and the Singular again, which was Jon’s last gig on the drums. He was replaced by Alisdair Macaulay, widely known for his work with Tindersticks. The band played a live set and did an interview for ‘Objetivo Navarra’ the results of which you can see (along with other TV work) on youtube, and followed that with a gig supporting Bizardunak during the fiestas in Villava, Navarra. The Caravinagres ended 2009 by recording their soon to be released second EP, recording an interview on the 9th December for Rudy Goroskieta on Onda Melodía, and by playing concerts at the Big Star Club and the Terminal in Pamplona, both with Habeus Corpus drummer Iker Alduntzin. The band are, as of Xmas 2009, writing new material and rehearsing for the next set of gigs in 2010.

Hola, bienvenido al maravilloso mundo de The Caravinagres, un grupo formado por dos británicos, un brasileño y un navarro que viven en la kazuelika multicultural que es la ciudad de Iruña/Pamplona. El grupo lleva dos años tocando juntos y han escrito algunas buenísimas canciones en las cuales se refleja la vida como está hoy en día en las calles, plazas y rincones de Pamplona.
La música de The Cara Vinagres es una mezcla de lo mejor del rock y pop británico de todas las épocas, hecho de una forma intensa, urgente, hermosa y a veces psicódelica , qué transmite un ambiente muy Británico, y a la vez muy Pamplonika, un ambiente generado por la uva tempranillo, el viento del norte y las calles polvorientas de la Navarrería.
La popularidad del grupo ha crecido mucho durante los últimos meses, y recientemente el grupo ha… • ..grabado un CD de tres maravillosas canciones en Estudio K, Pamplona • ..tocado en el Bar Singular. Un lleno total este abril pasado. • ..tocado en el Onki Xin, y de forma acústica en el Bar Woodstock. • ..tocado en el Día del Casco Viejo. • ..sido finalistas en el Certamen de Cantautores 2008. • .. hecho una entrevista para el programa de televisión ‘Gente Candela’. • ..ha tocado en directo en el programa ‘San Fermín, San Fermín’ de la emisora de televisión Canal 6 de Navarra. • .. tocado ‘With You’ y hecho una entrevista para el programa de televisión ‘Abierto por Vacaciones’ una vez más de Canal 6. • ..y las canciones ‘With You’ y ‘Grafiti Iruña’ han sonado varias veces en la radio.
