The Carol-Anne Showband are no longer a band in the physical sense. We played our last gig on the fourteenth of August, two thousand 'n' eight and we recorded these songs a few days before with the help of the fine folk at The Woodyatt Lodge Recording Facilities.
There's three of us on these recordings. Saul had already flown the nest leaving me (Tom), Simon (him) and Shaun (that guy) to thrash out these five songs that were fairly fresh at the time of recording. We'd played them out 'n' about a few times and we were getting a good response to them so before Shaun shot off to Taiwan, where he now resides, we knew we had to nail 'em down and hang 'em up here for y'all to see.
Since Shaun left me and Simon have been pretty slack in doing anything productive with these songs. We had planned to put them on a CD and distribute them in some way, but as time went on it seemed increasingly difficult to promote the music of a band that no longer existed. Anyway, we really wanted people to hear them as we think they've really captured The ol' Carol-Anne sound. So here they are.
Please let us know what you think to our last batch of songs. The Carol-Anne Showband was always just a small group of friends playing music to a slightly larger group of friends and now that we only exist as a virtual entity in the form of this page, we can only gauge a public response by your messages.
