"...There's not a bad track on this album. Why aren't these guys huge stars yet?"
Sandra Sperounes, The Edmonton Journal
"...Low Noise, a slick affair of radio-friendly pop-rock on a funk foundation that- like the group- isn't afraid to show a little gloss."
Zoltan Varadi, ED Magazine
THE MUSICAL FORCE
Let us rewind to just over a year and a half ago when The Casanova Playboys embarked on a naive and ultimately disasterous trip to Vancouver from the flat and desolate prairie lands of Edmonton, Alberta.
At that point, the band had high hopes; only to realize that certain members were just not ready. Some departed, leaving the trio of Jamie Star, Zack Action and Will The Thrill to fend for themselves in East Vancouver while surviving on Kraft dinner and canned tuna.
Suddenly, fate stepped in and united the three with Josh Posh, an extremely talented guitar player. "Low Noise" was born.
After 6 months and a few shows in Vancouver (including an offer to play with NYC pop gods the Scissor Sisters), the band was in financial ruin. Recording costs proved too expensive to keep up with, while supporting the band's musical passion was but a dream. In reality, the band was broke and starving.
A job offer was placed on the table to Zack Action from a media outlet back in Edmonton. With nothing but shame, the band admitted defeat and moved back, leaving their guitar prodigy behind. Not all was lost however! Longtime friend and Bass sensation, Mitch Magic stepped in. With sudden determination to succeed in the music industry, the band saved and saved only to sporadically return to Vancouver over the next year and deliver what would be the first real Casanova Playboys experience.
"A year from hell" is what certain members could call it, but who can complain when the force that is driving you, is an undeniable appetite and thirst to do something different - something timeless - something excellent. Finally, after a few nocturnal months in the studio, the record was finally accomplished. And that brings us to now ladies and gentlemen...with many obstacles a band faces in their midst, the Casanova Playboys shall overcome! Produced by Jonathan Fluevog, and mastered at Sterling Sound, NYC by Ted Jensen, look for The Casanova Playboys brand new 14-song "Low Noise" LP in stores soon!
