we have a great selection of super chilled world beers - erdinger.. staropramen.. leffe.. fruli.. fine wines & premium spirits. our new food menu includes; chunky chilli & rice... chicken & bacon pie mash & peas... halloumi cous cous & salad... fish & chips... homemade nachos... a selection of sandwiches.. as well as sharing plates & bar food.
we love music, fruli strawberry beer, home-cooked food, newspapers & coffee, our comfy lounge room upstairs, cool city folk, fabric club kids, chilling on sunday with a roast, 'nish nish' resident weekend djs, electronic beats & sonic bleeps n smiley friendly peeps...

on a weekend we pride ourselves on being farringdon's best pre-club music venue with live djs every friday & saturday playing electro house and old skool classics until 1am.

history in the makin: the castle ec1 - once visited by a certain king george who stopped off to enjoy a spot of cock-fighting [back in the day] but had no dosh and so he could have a bit of a flutter issued the landlord with a pawnbrokers licence which is still in existence today; the only one by a public house! george then pawned his pocket watch in return for some gambling spends.
the castle ec1 would like to inform their friends customers animal rights activists and observers that we do not.. in any shape or form.. condone cock-fighting at these premises!
About me: the castle ec1 is an 18th century traditional pub with a unique contemporary offer. from the outside it appears to possess all the makings of a london boozer. while on the inside it is far from that. while pavement drinkin in the summer sun proves popular our comfy lounge style pub is just that to shelter from the winter chill. great pub grub, interesting beers. cool music. wine offers. vice magazine and newspapers.
located opposite farringdon tube. live resident djs ben & smit [nishnish] on friday and Saturday night until 1am make us a very popular pre-fabric haunt on the weekend. our upstairs lounge - see photo slide - is available for hire and the castle's inimitable qualities make this an ideal set location for television and film projects.
