The H Girl: Lead Guitar, Vocals
Heather was raised by Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart after a hippie couple dumped her to the side of the road in 1976. After inspiring the song “Alone”, she left Heart to form her own group in 1980 — the aptly titled “The Bleeding Heart Band”. After conducting a string of semi-successful high school marching bands in South Texas, she went on to find “The Catchelorettes” in 2006.
Jenny Jeronimo: Lead Vocals, Guitar
A good sorority girl gone bad, Jenny Jeronimo honed her singing talent after being she was forced into hard labor on the railway in 1992 for a crime she didn’t commit. JJ was found disoriented and bleeding from the nose at a Dave Matthews Band concert in 2007 by Amber & The H Girl and taken into safety to become the lead singer of “The Catchelorettes.”
Amber from the Boldt: Bass, Vocals
Amber was born in Alaska to a group of renegade sea-monkey poachers. She grew up in Denali National Park where she learned how to play the electric bass by a musically inclined pack of bears. She emerged from the wilderness at age 7 and has been rocking ever since.
DJ Woods: Drums, Vocals
DJ was born in Tokyo in 1980 and raised by a band of rock n’ roll ninjas. In 1985 she decided to trade in her nun chucks in for a pair of drumsticks. She now uses her mystic powers of drumming for the good of mankind, and of course to obtain tasty fair-trade cheese curds.
Influences
Our influences are all over the board. While Heather is a true 80’s punk rocker who enjoys all things 80’s and rockin’, Amber got her wide range of influences from her mother who was in her own moderately successful 80’s band "Hot Ash". Jen was a walking Old Town ad playing acoustic songs until she turned to the dark side. So... here they are!
The Mr. T Experience, Elliott Smith, The Faces, Cat Power, Gang of Four, Led Zeppelin, Hayden, The Strokes, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Pink Mountaintops, The White Stripes, Gossip, and we all just learned that we are proud to say we love The Monkees.
If the Go-Go’s and the Sex Pistols hooked up at an all-night rock n’ roll party and had a love child, it might sound a lot like The Catchelorettes — an all-girl pop-punk band from Chicago. The lovely ladies got their name from a combination of the terms "Cat Lady" and "Bachelorette."
The group formed in 2006 after meeting at Old Town School of Folk Music. They quickly decided that moonlighting as a punk rock band would be way more kick ass than a folk quartet. Sure, some of their songs explore deep, thought-provoking territory (the American mass media, psychological experiments, etc) but the vast majority of their songs are about stupid boys that piss them off.
