Sounds Like
Ourselves - all tracks on this player are our own material.
CCQ - the Cathi Cook Quintet comprises Key Boards/Flute, Bass & Drums rhythm section plus Jazz Guitar and Trombone/Vocals/Soprano sax front line.
The band's material is drawn from a variety of influences - Hard Bop, Smooth, Out, Blues, Latin and Funk, and comprises both original material composed & arranged by the band and standards from the modern jazz repertoire (Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Roland Kirk and the usual "evergreen standards"). This large repertoire contains sufficient diversity to accommodate a wide variety of audiences and venues.
CCQ - despite being uncompromising in their musical direction & objectives have an appeal that goes beyond the "hard nosed" jazz audience. Thus CCQ are a popular choice, not only for the specialist audience, but also for the more sophisticated function or corporate "do".
