What people say about The Cedar:
“After 12 years covering music in the Twin Cities, I have no issue calling The Cedar the most important music venue in the Twin Cities. It brings cultures together and changes the way people see the world.” –Bill Snyder, local music and arts columnist
The following posting from “aol.com cityguide” reflects the important contribution of The Cedar to the Twin Cities:
OK, so you heard from a friend of a friend that a very cool, non-top 40, super eclectic band is playing a concert this coming weekend. You know, the one you heard interviewed by Teri Gros on Fresh Air. This friend, however, didn't give you the name of the venue where the band was playing. Fresh out of luck? Probably not, because it’s most likely the band is playing at the Cedar Cultural Center. This folksy music hall with an enormous dance floor has developed a reputation for lively, smart, surprising programming designed to bring first-rate musicianship to the Twin Cities.

Saudades gente! We miss you and want to get back to home base at The Cedar. If you're looking for an opener, there are some shows that excite us very much in the near future. In particular, it would be a sonho to open for Lenine. Let us know if this is possible. Our management will probably be in touch too. Abracos, s.b. & Q.
