The Cellophane Flowers are the masters of creating driving, accessible, quirky pop which appeals to a colourfully diverse audience. Their songs reflect an eclectic array of influences from tribal drumming to elements of jazz or even the dark tinge of 80’s pop. The 'Flowers are a force to be reckoned with, leaving unsuspecting audience members dazed and enthused through their whirlwind of sounds, instrument swapping and short but incredibly sweet live sets.
Led by the sublime vocal powers of leading lady Francesca Corradini, ‘If I Was A Girl’ will gently sweep you off your feet with its sparse verses and shake you around for the explosive chorus before spitting you back out again with its surprisingly abrupt ending. Recorded with Animal Farm, the 'Flowers' perfectionist approach led them to mix the track again with Oli Wright (Mystery Jets, Jarvis Cocker) at Miloco Studios to bring out the innate warmth of the song.
The Cellophane Flowers have spent the summer of 2009 playing a long string of memorable gigs including the Cambridge Rock Festival, Proud Art Gallery, The Enterprise, The Windmill and The Jamm, gathering up fans locally to add to their US following. They host their own The Cellophonic Club night every month, where DJ’s, live art and face painting precede a set by the Flowers.
"Italian-born singer Francesca Corradini coos like Lily Allen, if the pop tart had been raised on the Mediterranean." SPIN Magazine

"A band from London who's members add even more international flair..." Matt Murdock - WFNX-FM
