2009 has been a successful year for The Cetan Clawson Revolution with the re-release of White Heat through Universal, Cetan's first major label re-release. With a performance at SXSW in Austin, TX at the 8th Impression showcase, opening for The Electric Six at the Double Door in Chicago, as well as the opening slot at the Viper Room in Los Angeles, CA following Bang Camaro's highly anticipated performance on Jimmy Kimmel and the closing night of their headlining tour, things couldn't get much better.
Except they did. In July, Cetan Clawson went down to Austin, TX acting upon a rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to record with the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan drummer Chris Layton, along with Scott Nelson from Kenny Wayne Shepherd on bass, with Stuart Sullivan engineering. From these sessions came the 2009 release, Cetan Clawson with Chris Layton and Scott Nelson, also released through Universal, and available on iTunes and other select stores Aug. 25th.
After a successful set and packed room in July at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, MI (the famed venue where Jimi Hendrix once played, and Kurt Cobain's favorite venue), a regular stop for Cetan, and an impressive revenue of new national and local press, including a full feature article in one of the closing issues of the Ann Arbor News (after 174 years in business), the trio found themselves heading down to Nashville, TN play at the 5 Spot, their first ever show in Tennessee.
The latest development for the group is the upcoming addition of a Cetan Clawson track for Rock Band, where gamers will be able to purchase and download a track from Cetan's debut record, a song titled White Heat. The group has undergone heavy touring in the recent past and plans to hit the road again pending recording the next main release, tentatively titled The Feedback Gospel. This release will feature a number of anticipated tracks, including The Cities on Fire, and a rendition of indie/blues/psychedelic material in the vein of Cream, Radio Moscow, and Mars Volta.
