The Chad Sipes Stereo is pleased to announce the release of The Soft Center of the City, the group’s second album and a follow up to 2006’s A Working Life.
For The Soft Center of the City, the band decided to honor a new raw sound by recording the album in their personal studio/rehearsal space in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The Soft Center of the City combines Chad Sipes’ distinctive vocal style with Erik Cirelli’s soaring guitar and Paul Smith’s explosive rhythms. Sipes, Cirelli and Smith put on their producing hats, and hired Barak Shpiez of Spearhead Audio to engineer the record. The band recorded twelve tracks over four days in January 2007.
Thematically, The Soft Center of the City is a departure from A Working Life. The new album examines troubled relationships between men and women through aptly titled songs such as “The Crooked Strait,” “The Crutch,” and “Beautiful Divide.” Sipes also uses humor to reflect on character struggles, as in “The Sound of the Suburbs,” a raucous, jazz-tinged examination of suburban America’s search for individuality and uniqueness.
With thoughtful, poetically practical lyrics and sharp, white-hot instrumentation, The Soft Center of the City captures The Chad Sipes Stereo at their eclectic best.

June 6, 2008 - The Sales Bros. Blast Off - Our first foray into Soul is one of the best albums of its kind that I have ever heard. Hunt & Tony Sales toured the world with David Bowie and Iggy Pop as Tin Machine. This is their first solo album. The tracks were recorded in an empty swimming pool 28 years ago, but they sound as clear and pristine as if they were recorded yesterday. It is an experience like you have rarely lived it. You have to listen to it. It's absolutely fabulous.

SYNOPSIS:
A raw, compelling glimpse into a young man’s ill-conceived scheme to redeem himself in the eyes of his
ex-girlfriend. Ron (John T. Woods in a breakout performance) lures Carol (played by the charming and
beautiful Marion Kerr) back to his apartment under the pretense that he is going to return her favorite
mug. When it seems this will be their last moment together, Ron desperately maneuvers to strike a chord
with her in his own uniquely heartfelt way. Ain’t It Cool New has hailed it as “Brilliant” and Rogue Cinema
praised the film as “...a beautiful little movie...funny and touching...”. On March 5, 2008 it was officially
certified as Dogme Film #242.
Thanks for adding me. ¶ People hear only what they want, so facts alone won't wake them; they need inspiration too. ¶ This world's evils have a common root: Bullies, liars, thieves, & murderers — particularly those in public office — believe we're all separate, motivated only by self-interest, by greed & fear. They want us to share that belief; they use it to justify themselves, to manipulate us, to shape the world's political & economic systems, perpetuating war & poverty. ¶ But you & I have found something better inside ourselves & our friends. It's in everyone, if we can just wake them; we're all one flesh & blood. Let's spread that vision, for until we do our other advances will be minor & temporary. (And Lakoff, Waldman, Hartmann ha
