The Charming Place Whimsical Art By Shelley Wiebe's Blurbs
About me: Well here it goes.
I stay at home with my children who range in age from 5 to 17. YIKES! I also work part time at an art gallery. I would love to just sell my art full time, but that hasnt’ been able to pay the bills...yet! Even though that is my goal $$$ I seem to give most of my art away to friends and family...or sell at drastically low prices. I keep thinking some day.....some day. I work hard at what I do, even though it truly isn’t work at all.
I love to create art in many forms which seem to change on a regular basis depending on the weather....I wish I could stay focused on one medium, but thats never the case. I wake up, and pick up a pencil, marker, paint brush, scratch pen, or sit at the computer designing clip art. Thats my latest project. Clip art. I have learned photoshop....finally, and have scanned my images then colored them. And, the most ridiculous thing is that I give them away for free. I know, I know, but I am going to try and package and sell them.
I finally got my store up and running at my website too. There are some really unique hand made items there. http://www.thecharmingplace.com/products.html.
I currently sell to local stores in my area, and have regular customers that keep coming back....A HUGE THANKYOU!
thanks for the compliments cyrstal! Its so inspiring, lately i have forgotten what its like to paint. Seems like i never have enough time. I work in a framing store part time, and yesterday [iframe]d a picture of three women dancing freely, i wish i could feel that free, seems like we get caught in this trap of doing the same thing every day. I need to get some of my creativity back. Great to hear from you. Keep up your colorful art girl, its so colorful, fun and brings a smile to your face.
Hey girl! I am so glad you found me. Thanks for swapping links with me too. Any exposure is good exposure. Seems like we may have a lot in common. Music for one. Anyway, since you are making clip art, have you thought about selling to stock photogrphy books. I went to school for graphic arts and people who design ads for just about anything buy stock art/photography. Might want to look into that. Quit giving your work away. :)
