CHEAPERS EP -WHITE HOLE- OUT IN OCTOBER 2009 ON UPON YOU RECORDS!
The travel reports of the Wilderness EP Part 1 & 2 follows a documentation of a time when The Cheapers were together in a dark vault and they were only attending the on going outer world through a “white hole".
In Chapter A1 they report about the mondane mess that interfuses through the small opening into their facultative dungeon. They aim towards their profile and fill their surface with melody and intoxication.
B1describes basseruptions in front of the “White House” and while buzzing, pouring oil onto the strings of their piano, to proove the efficiency of renewable soundenergies.
Their mission was succesfully kept a secret until rising winds released the manuskript blowing them out of the darkness to the CD of the current Groove-Magazine.
Finally all parts are official and available on Upon You Records.

Trocken wie Wüstenstaub, so beginnt die A-Seite, bis eine manische Melodieskulptur einsetzt und sich ein Rauschen so hell und gleißend wie die Wintersonne auf einer Skipiste dazu gesellt. Hypnose! B1 ist ein asketisches Brett, durch das sich ein verschiedentlich variiertes und sehr tieffrequentes Brummen bohrt. Das Klangbild von B2 ist glasklar, fragmentierter Gesang und angedeutete Melodien verlieren sich im Nirgendwo. Surreal trippiger Techno.

“Disorder” ist einer dieser sequentiellen Technotracks mit soviel Tiefe, dass man sich in die Zeit zurückwünscht, in der Minimal noch gar nicht erfunden war. Sehr smooth und melodiös, tänzelnd, aber mit einer unnachahmlichen Energie, kickt der Track über seine lockeren Pianoakkordbreaks so funky und detroitig wie man Cheapers noch nie erlebt hat. Die Rückseite ist smoother und zurückgezogener, dezent dark und auf beiden Tracks ein klein wenig angeschrägt, was den Stücken eine sanft paranoide, aber dennoch nicht so unbeugsam böse Haltung gibt, dass sie doch immer wieder auch zu melodischeren Momenten zurückfinden. Sehr schönes Release.
