After a long string of house party quasi-performances across the greater Champaign-Urbana area, innumerable changes in membership and instrument assignments, and a horrible bout of whooping cough, four members arose from the ashes of their rocky past, fusing into the band you know (and love) today.
August of 2004 was the first live performance of the Chemicals by official name and lineup. Since then, the Chemicals have shared the stage with acts including Earlimart , Apollo Sunshine, the M's, Via Satellite, and various appearances with locals Mad Science Fair, Tractor Kings, Headlights, Hot Cops, Terminus Victor, New Ruins, SCURVINE and many more.....
