There are a lot of lies about The Chemistry Experiment. Here I give you only the truth.. in the form of ten FACTS!
The Chemistry Experiment live and make music in Nottingham, England... the gun and drugs capital of the western world (apparently)
The present day lineup of Steven J Kirk, The Paul Stone, Emily Kawasaki, Lee Tombs and Martin Craig have been together for about seven years.
The Chemistry Experiment once played a show on an old Chinese Junk on the river Seine in Paris.
John Peel once started to play 'Charles Aznavour Song' (the opening track on the 'Be My Postman' Ep) at the wrong speed. He then proceeded to talk over the false ending.
The first real Chemistry Experiment album, 'The Melancholy Death' took over five years to record. It was released in 2005.
The second real Chemistry Experiment album, 'Gongs played by voice', isn't finished yet - but it is almost certain to be released before 2010.
Steven J Kirk once opened a gig in Northampton by saying 'I've never been to Norwich before'. Not only was this inappropriate given where the gig was, it was also a lie as Steven J Kirk, and the rest of the band, have all been to Norwich.
Martin, the drummer, has got a cat called Dave. Steven and Paul (who are not gay lovers) have a rabbit called Darth Vader. Lee has two dragons, who are called Seamus and Brian but are not real. Emily has an armadillo tank called Jeremy.
Giraffes have four legs.
The Chemistry Experiment aren't making music for money, fame or adulation. They are doing it because it's fun. That doesn't mean, however, that money, fame and adulation wouldn't be gratefully accepted.
The Bon Bon Club are Sushi Quatro (bass, vox), Thirsty Moore (drums, vox) and Chapatti Smith (perc, vox), although Sushi and Thirsty are better known under different names for their day job as the rhythm section of Sheffield glam-popsters The Long Blondes.
hello, you can now listen to 6 (six) of our new songs. though this actually means three proper new songs, one re-recorded old song, a new iteration of the magic road and a cover of a smog song. do let us know what you think...
You are most cordially invited to the.....
