"The Cherokees played a more subtle set of indie rock,
with a sound of early Stereophonics. The vocalist
showed a great range and delivered some thoughtful
lyrics, whilst the rhythm section was really tight. My
favourite was 'Boys Will Be Boys' which built up to a
crescendo and the crowd favourite. The audience
wanted an encore but time had run out."

The "Cherokees" are a four piece band based in the city of Sheffield. The name comes from the 1960's single "Three Wheels on My Wagon". A song sung to frontman Paul Fodor during his childhood by his late uncle and mentor...whom Paul argues is still the most important influence in his writing.
The Cherokees all grew up within close quarters of each other in the ex mining village of Thorpe Hesley, now a middle class paradise.
On their journey so far the Cherokees have had the pleasure of working with artists and producers Richard Hawley (Longpigs, Pulp) and ex-Stranglers frontman Hugh Cornwell. Cherokees have supported bands like The Killers, Longview, Morning Runner and Gene.

It’s been far too long since I last said hello and so much has happened I thought it about time we said did.
We’ve changed a lot, now we are an “UltraModern, post-electro rock, post-nu rave behemoth where Muse and Mansun meet a Massive Attack with Duran Duran pop sensibilities, louder guitars, and a stunning female front person/guitar virtuoso”, or so we have been told.
I’d love to know what you’ve been up to since we disappeared into the dark damp studio cave, let us know how it’s going, I’m always up for a chat! May your thoughts be Scarlet and your actions Blonde ;-) Dawn xx Scarlet/blonde
