It's the mid 90's and Jason is bored with his musical direction. He longs for new inspiration to appear in his dreams....
Meanwhile, Sara decides it's about time she gets back on the music scene - she is ready for something new...
So, old pal's Jason and Sara meet again, for the first time in a few years, and discuss their mutual longings and dreams. And the two of them slowly put together an album's worth of songs, with sounds of hot summer days, swinging cocktail parties, and starry romance... "The Start of our Affair" was born...
French record label "CAVALCADE" fell in love with the music, which resulted in the release of "The Start of our Affair" at the beginning of 1998. The eleven track digi-pack sold throughout Spain, France, Sweden, Belgium and Japan, with plenty of airplay to go with it. Japanese label "QUINCE" also licensed the album from Cavalcade, for their own release.
Meanwhile, Jason and Sara were already planning their 2nd CD, keeping their renowned pastoral sounds, but adding a twist of "Latino"...
Another session in the studio, with newly joined drummer Rachel, resulted in "Espresso", a five track CD EP, which was released at the start of 1999, under the label's new name "RIVIERA"...
May 1999, in America, New York label "MARCH" prepared the release of "The Start of our Affair", licensed from Cavalcade/Riviera .... Over in Spain they featured on a compilation CD given away free with Spanish music magazine "Rock De Lux", which coincided with a rare performance by the band (Jason (guitar, vocals), Sara (bass, vocals), Rachel (drums, vocals) & Ben (keyboards) ) in BARCELONA in June 1999.
Throughout 1999 Jason and Sara went back into the studio to record their second album, with "Soft Boys" / "Katrina and the Waves" man Kimberly Rew. The new songs were a huge step forward from the first album, keeping all the same ingredients but adding something special to tempt the tastebuds even further into the world of The Cherry Orchard.
The new CD album , 'This World is Such a Groovy place' was released by RIVIERA/MINI TENOR in October 1999.
It was also released on FFWD Records, Indonesia.
At the end of 1999 they flew out to Germany for a show with the Trembling Blue Stars.
February 2000 saw Jason, Sara & Rachel flying to NEW YORK to play at March Records 8th Anniversary.
They returned to New York to play again in 2002.
'Everybody Knows' was featured on the international compilation - MOSHI MOSHI on MARCH RECORDS - also released limited edition in Japan on Flavour of Sound records.
2002 saw Jason and Sara record 'Snowflakes Falling' - for a Christmas compilation CD by Japanese label L'Apparel-Photo Bis - Soiree De Noel.
Other releases include a Vinyl LP edition of 'This World is such a Groovy Place' - Japan only, limited edition 7" singles - France only, and tracks on numerous compilation CD's in Phillipines, Spain, Japan, USA, France, Germany, Sweden
