We formed The Chevelles in 1989 from the ashes of The Stems, Kryptonics and The Freuds. Over the past 18 years we have released 6 albums and have countless tracks on compilations all around the world. We haved toured around the globe from our hometown of Perth Western Australia to Brazil the US and throughout Europe playing over 800 shows in our lifetime as a band. Ink is drying on a new deal with Little Stevens Wicked Cool Records and May 28th 2008 saw the worldwide release of the Anthology album "Introducing The Chevelles- Barbarella Girl God" . Now previewing some of the new tracks on the site. Would love to hear from some old fans as well as some new ones ! Had a ball on the West Aussie Power Pop Assault World Tour in Sweden, UK Spain and the US.........South by Southwest was a blast....thanks for the hospitality....be back real soon !!

Why are all the great bands Australian these days? What is happening down there? I've posted something to this effect on about a billion different Aussie bands' boards and I'm running out of original ways to phrase it. Suffice it to say I just wish we had ONE guitar-pop act as good as you in New York City, which really does have the same population as Australia, after all.

Good news! The brand new powerpopcompilation "Souvenirs" is being released this week! It contains 21 great North American powerpop tracks from 1975-95. You can hear three of the songs that just have been uploaded on our Myspage page. The CD also contains a previously unreleased song by the great Canadian band Pointed Sticks recorded in the late 70..s. It is availabe from Not Lame Records and Kool Kat Musik, and it will very soon be available from CD Baby.
