UNFORTUNATELY THE BAND HAS BEEN ON HIATUS SINCE APRIL 2002(OUR LAST SHOW WAS APRIL 16th, 2002 at the CONCORDE 2 in BRIGHTON, ENGLAND). There is no plan currently to record or tour. I hate when bands say "We've broken up just to get back years later for some hoopla reunion, so we'll leave it at WE'RE JUST TAKING A BREAK and one day we'll return with something. For now, enjoy the free tunes up here and we'll change them around every few months so you can download more songs.
BIO:
The Chinkees are about being positive and addressing things through music that are important to the band personally and in the world we share. It's not about being aggresively political nor about alienating people, or even about trying to change the world overnight. It's about searching for a brighter future.
Thank you so much for the add! Your music has given me joy and insipred me greatly. I had the pleasure of meeting Mike at ska against racism here in Portland some years ago, and he is the nicest person you can meet. Thank you for keeping the ska scene alive and for doing your part to make a better, more peaceful world.
hey! you guys are awesome! i've loved your music for years! please come to canada and play! like in ontario, or near ontario so that i can hear you guys live!!! thanks!
when i think about the times i like to repeat in life theres a time when chinkkes, dead panchos, voodoo glow skulls, buck o nine, played in tijuana, i even think that was the first time for the chinkkes and buck o nine to play in mexico. that time has a mark in my mind thank you very much for times like those. deadpanchoalex loves ya
I really enjoy your music. Someday I hope you guys will let me play bass for you :) haha just kidding, but seriously you guys are marvelous, and your bass player has some really cool bass lines.
hey Mike Park. thanks for the add. you're doin' pretty good job with the Chinkees and with Asian Man Record. thanks to you i found out about many great asian bands among them my fav, Potshot. anyway, keep up the good work. cheers.
Seeing the Chinkees live was one of my favourite gigs ever! I have been wondering since i know that mike is now married and all that what the rest of the band members are up to? Had a great time at the gig in Newcastle UK a few years ago and a good chat with Greg, what does he do now?
Hey our guitarist Mike Mahaffie, is going to be a guest DJ on live 105.3, and he is going to play Big World by you guys, alone with OpIve, Minor Threat, and Link-80. We just thought we would let you know because we are big fans.
