CMP's version of Whole Lotta Love on the BHP Release of "Get the Led Out", an instrumental salute to Led Zeppelin, has received much acclaim in publications such as Guitar Player Magazine, Mix magazine and many others. His take on this classic track has been called "every bit as good as the original yet with a very unique flair."
This cd is available at all major music retailers and on-line.
Appearance, CMP's second CD is nearing completion and BHP Productions is planning a May/June release.
20th Century Guitar magazine says, "A guitarist who's really doing something different with the instrumental electric guitar sound."
Michael Molenda, editor in chief of Guitar Player Magazine says, "Mahoney has a soaring tone and wonderful sense of melody. Keep an ear, or two on this guy."
Note: the release date of Appearance has been delayed. See blog for details.
Stay tuned for the upcoming releases, also on the BHP Label, of A Tribute to Jeff Beck where Chris recorded Star Cycle as well as VooDoo Child to appear on a Jimi Hendrix Compilation. Check here often for updates on these releases and visit www.bohemianproductions.net
Fantasy Life, from the Rebirth CD will be featured on BHP's "Guitar Masters II" which will also feature BB King, Jimmy Page, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai and many other amazing musicians.
Chris Mahoney has been called "An up and coming guitar player who's really doing something different with the instrumental guitar sound." Michael Molenda of Guitar Player magazine says, "a soaring tone and a wonderful sense of melody. Keep an ear, or two on this guy!" His debut Album, Rebirth has been called "A guitar instrumental record for people who hate guitar instrumental records" and showcases not only "great playing" but an eclectic mix of elements not yet explored in this genre. Strong melodies, great grooves and electronic elements are only some of the ways to describe this "refreshing approach" to guitar instrumental music. Guitar players and perhaps, even more importantly non guitar players have been "mesmerized and captivated by his unique style and stage presence".
He has been the opening act for such artists as Al DiMeola, Steve Vai, Gov't Mule, Blue Oyster Cult and other national acts of various genres and his own audience is growing and his music attracts such a diverse audience, it only proves what 20th Century Guitar magazine said "He's breaking down walls for the instrumental guitar sound." Major rock radio stations have listened to the requests of his fan base and played his music, and has sat quite well into the mainstream rock format, a happening very rare of instrumental music. In fact I-95 ROCK played his Rebirth album in it's entirety, the first time they'd ever done this in their thirty year history!!!
After a breakup in a commercial rock band, Chris decided to focus on his own writing and record Rebirth. "It was something I simply HAD to do" he said. "Although I enjoy the challenge of working in a band or being a sideman , listening to what's in my own head was overwhelming me and ironically, it has been the most successful musical endeavor I've done." Guitar and amp manufactures Terry McInturff and Soldano Custom Amplification proudly include him in their artist roster. He teaches on a regular basis and has a full plate of loyal students and fans alike. I think a fan said it best when he said, "I'm preaching the good news of your music like gospel". His follow up album, Appearance will be released later this year on Bohemian Records. "It's a bit more groove oriented perhaps" when asked how it differs from his prior effort. "I draw all my inspiration from the same place, but my approach was a bit different for Appearance in that I wanted EVERYTHING to just groove pretty hard." Appearance's producer Chris Cubeta said, "Chris' records are great because as much as they are guitar records, they're RHYTHM records."
Chris also will be featured on some great guitar compilation CD's in which he recorded some classic guitar oriented songs in a way only he could do. "Breaking down walls?".........I'd say so.

Kicksville Rolls Out Smart “Dumfukistan” On 4/20 Holiday
‘The Singles - Season 2’ To Be Released
Kicksville, the musical collective with a population of almost 60 at last count, culture-jammed their way through 'The Singles - Season 1" this winter and have now prepped their ‘Season 2’ release this spring. The album will be released in weekly “singles” installments, beginning on Kicksville's Founders' Day, 4/20, with “Dumfukistan. ”
Like Kicksville, “Dumfukistan” is more a state of mind than a mappable location, one where the inhabitants, says Commissioner Conrad St. Clair, "are more focused on their bellybuttons and their hair than the world around them." The song embodies the group's dark comedy in a tidy two-minute auditory package featuring scathing lyrics, playful guitar, pummeling drum and bass - all while criticizing government and consumerism behind a genre mash-up from another galaxy.
'Season 2' features the contributions of 18 citizen musicians, but focuses on the members of Kicksville's far-flung City Council: Commissioner St. Clair, Mayor Mike Stehr, Lou Caldarola, Chris Huntington, Beaker, Tone Deaf and Aya Peard.
“Possible influences include supernatural phenomena that haunt the skies. ” – RCRD LBL
“If you want to spend an hour in an entirely different dimension, than Kicksville is right for you. ” - Skope Magazine

We are very proud to announce, that Monocular s "Water Shape EP" is available at your favorite Online-Store now.
Containing the single "Water Shape" from the forthcoming album "Somewhere On The Line" (April 03, 2009 VierSieben Records/Alive) and three non-album tracks ("Consequence", "To Admire The Life", "Ravenclaw"), it is definitely a must have for all fans of filigree and athmospheric electrosounds.
Where bands like Lamb or Frou Frou left a gap in the late 90s and early 21st century, Monocular redefined the sound and set new standards in developing their complex music by connecting charismatic vocals with entrancing soundscapes.
