The aptly named Cinematic Orchestra (TCO) were formed by 30 year old J. Swinscoe back in 1999. At the time Jay was still an employee at Ninja Tune in South London, where he was responsible for export sales at the long-standing independent record label. Swinscoe arrived at London Bridge from Scotland via Yorkshire and Cardiff with a background playing bass and guitar in bands and DJing, as well as a head full of ideas and influences, such as his love of jazz bass players, rhythm sections and film soundtracks. So while he knocked out Mr. Scruff and Coldcut records to Spain and Scandinavia by day, he began putting together the TCO album in his downtime.

Le Santa débute cette année très fort en accueillant Moving Fusion. Ce duo à tout explosé en 1998 avec « Turbulence » véritable tube planétaire. Par la suite, ils ont été un des groupes clef du succès de Ram Records grâce à une succession de hits alliant groove funky et rythmiques lourdes aux effets dévastateurs. Leur premier album ‘The Start Of Something’ les à définitivement confirmé comme producteurs phare de la scène D & B anglaise, d’ailleurs leurs tubes ‘The Beginning’, ‘Brain Storm’, ‘Combat’ and ‘Sex Drive’ sont toujours joué par les plus grands Djs. Aujourd’hui Moving Fusion aka Jeff Langton vient de sortir « Walk on/Symbols » troisième maxi sur son propre label Drum Culture, et il est résident au côté d’Andy-C, des soirées Ram records. Côté résidents Nchten et Besnur chaufferont la party avec un pur cocktail Hip Hop et scratchs, rejoints par Fla et Lucky buzz, pour le ping pong Drum and Bass du Santacrew. Egale à lui même Poupa Dancer assurera l’ambiance sur scène. Soirée énorme en perspective !
