The Cities formed in November 2007 after a chance meeting at the Mad Ferret pub in Preston. Sharing an initial love of Radiohead, they went on to sound nothing like their common interest. Other influences soon came to the surface, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and other early 90’s American grunge acts, although you couldn’t really throw The Cities in with these bands (and not just because they’re all multi-millionaires and/or dead). Individual influences, such as Clutch, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam and Hope of the States mean each member brings something different to the band and the results…..can be heard in the music player. Form your own opinion on the music, The Cities like it even if no-one else does.
