The Clarendon is a family owned pub located in Tower Street, Hartlepool in the centre of town opposite The Studio and Christ Church. It's been operating since 1988 with current landlord Alan Jackson taking over the reigns from his late father Fred Arnold JacksonThe Clarendon is welcome to one and all and has an eclectic group of regulars both young and old who deem this to be their 'local' which always makes for a vibrant atmoshere.
The downstairs bar is always popular be it for the 2 Pool Tables, Sky Sports on the big screen, Darts, Karaoke or just for a good old chinwag over a pint of your favourite brew.
Upstairs is the function room which is available to use for birthdays, weddings and other social gatherings which can seat up to 115 people. The upstairs area also has it's own bar which is always well stocked with draughts, bottles, can and spirits. The upstairs bar also doubles as a venue which has played host to a number of local, national and international bands in recent times. A small, intimate room.... old fashioned pub function room, which we think has charm.
The Clarendon will be investing in a new dedicated PA system and sound equipment in the new year, and upstairs will be open Thursday through to Sunday every week, and catering for all music genres and tastes. We hope to incorporate projections and lights too. Monday through till wednesday the venue will be available for rehearsals.
So If your band that wants to be play or you want to try some djing please send us a message via myspace, and i;m sure we will be able to accomodate you. The door tax can be anywhere between £2 and £10, we realise bands need to be payed, sound guys need paying too and DJs need looking after the bands, sound guys, djs get a split of the 100% take of the door.
