NME BEST MYSPACE NEW BAND OF THE WEEK 19/05/2007
BIO
We formed in Paris in 2004. We moved to Manchester in early 2006.
We have been gigging all around UK and France for the past two years. We've played with The Sunshine Underground, Mercury Rev, Starsailor, the Earlies, The Automatic, Dead Disco, Polytechnic, The KBC, Liars, Islands, Captain, Tiny Dancers, Peter And The Wolf, Gang Gand Dance, Modernaire and many other.
We released a single on Art Goes Pop in August 2006. It was called The Dissidents. Steve Lamacq played it a lot, it got rave reviews and sold out.
We died in may 07. Just as we were Best New Band on Myspace in the NME.
But we're alive now and we're MAUDITE DANCE.
Thanks a lot for listening.

Sky Larkin reviews
"Sky Larkin are one of the best bands Ive heard in the last year because they are frequently overwhelming, dark, upbeat, frantic and utterly charming. They on a par with absolutely no-one. Not because their music is obscure and unplaceable, but because every track will angrily shake off any comparisson you try to stick on it." nothingbutgreenlights.net
"Bit odd, very Brilliant." -NME
"Now that the Yorkshire mania has receded somewhat, and wave after wave of ¡Forward, Russia! copyists, Long Blondes-lites and Faketic Monkeys have been and gone, the cream is left on the top (notably those three bands) and we're finally able to take the area seriously again. Step to Sky Larkin: three pretty kids with many pretty songs. Think of them as a glorious mixture of stupendous pop melodies, pleasing-to-the-eye personnel and a host of quirks to boot. The band's debut single drops on Dance to the Radio later this month; expect the explosion to begin shortly after." -Drowned in Sound
