In the summer of 2001, Tim, Eric and Jake played together in Eat At Joes with Eric on lead Guitar and a different bass player. A simple, straight ahead punk band, they played a bunch of shows and gained a cult-like following. After Eat At Joes, the three started Lactose and Tolerant. Working hard and playing shows, the 3 earned enough money to start recording proffesionally in December of 2002. Steve joined on guitars that same year. The name was soon changed to The Cliches in early 2003. On May 25th of that year, (Also Jakes birthday) Eric quit the band. Max agreed to fill in on bass and vocals for the summer or until the Cliches found a more permanent replacement. The Cliches released a few demos in 2002-2003, including the 5 song demo "...And Every King," and released their debut full lenght self titled on November 7th, 2003. Max decided that he was the more permanent replacement. Some where along the line Steve kinda faded out, so we enlisted Bill, of Shiver Me Timbers fame, into the band on second guitar and vocals on March 7th. Released second full lenght, entitled "politicians lie" on april 17th. They also released "The September 11th Demo" on Nevember 28th.

Hey what's up, our guitarist Charles talked to your bassist Max a while back about the show at Suffolk. Anyway, we're tryin to get some shows any time in March/April, and were wondering if you would either (A) be playing any shows that you'd be willing to let us be a part of or (B) if you guys would be down to play a show that we might end up getting. We don't have any shows yet, but I'm going to call around within the next few days to see if I can get anything. Just send us a message or something if you guys are interested.
Hey The Monkey Wrench Gang, Don't miss the next TOOLFIST performance this Saturday at the Baybridge in Salem Mass for those of you in the area. Check us out here for details or go to toolfist.com
