Cincinnati Native Rock N Roll Band formed of two sets of BROTHERS
Scott (guitar) & Shanon (bass) The Gregory brothers. And
Adam (drums) & Dennis Dreyer ( Keys), The Dreyer brothers. We all also grew up in the Clifton Area of Cincinnati which is the University of Cincinnati Area. ( Hence the name The Clifton Brothers )Scott & Dennis met early when Dennis was only Seventeen and Started their first band, Playing stuff like Frank Zappa, Ozzy Osbourne and Deep Purple with Judis Priest. Both scott and Dennis have played in a half dozen bands together over the years from doing cover to strickly originals, and each have played in another half-dozen bands by thenselves. The Clifton Brothers are mainly an original song band but does play some obscure covers, along witrh a cpl classics chunkied up.
Songs from Hendrix to the Monkee's Steppin Stone song to the SEX PISTOLS, for some reason one of the fans favorites. Adam has always played drums and turned out tobe a hell of a drummer, Shanon always was picking up guitar licks from friends aswell all he could from Scott, played mainly guitar, and initially joined the band as a backup guitarist, became the bass player after the releasing the previous bassist of the band, bringing more power and speed to the band. The band has been spotlighted on local radio in Ciincinnati, has played in most of the local clubs and was the headline act amongst other local bands and Comedians for a Sunami Benefit put on for the Red Cross helping to raise thousand's of dollars. Scott has a hanging around in the music industry since an early teen when puck was starting to get big. I learn my first few songs on an old Harmony acoustic guitar taught to me by my Grandmother who had raised me. Old bluegrass songs like Wildwood Flower and Jimmy Brown the Newsboy. My grandmother's whole family played instruments Her grandfather used to make and play handmade Fiddles, banjos and played very well My Grandmother was even offered a job playing a country tour when she was still young. Then I started learning from anybody who would show me anything. In my my early guitar years I started working as a roadie for one of the local bands called SOL-RAY at 15, then started running sound for them. Thay were a cover band with lots of talent and were great friends.
I worked at Bogarts in Cinti here A local club for National Acts. Got to meet Artist Like BB King, Johnny Winter, Santana, Foghat, Ray Charles, Black Oak Arkansaw, Blackfoot, Anthrx, Dave Mustang and Megadeth backstage partying, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, My two Favorites. Was offered a Guitar tech job from Paul DiANno former singer for Iron Maiden. I been playing in bands off and on for the last 25 years. Did my first Nation Act gig playing lead guitar for NELS SATURN, who is Nelson Slater From the San Fransico Velvet Underground. since I've played with bands such as Heavy Weather, Roach, The Mystics ( where I was the only white guy in the band and made more money than any other band.) I like the music now better than ever!, Playing your own music is so much more fun and it allows you to develope your own sound or style.
Cincinnati's a very hard place to make it playing originals. But the enjoyment makes up for any gig doing covers.
We're just starting to work on another CD release, Have a few great sounding songs that need some finishing touches. Our first CD was a learning process that will help alot on the next CD.
We always have a jam room set-up in case any old friends come over and want to play. We are alway looking for a singer Always wanted to have someone to do the singing and let it rip, and let us just do some backups
if needed. We always say we need a singer but till then we'll get by singing ourselves. I will mention some of the local musicians who have inspired and helped me thru the years. First of all Eugene Simpson ( rest in peace ), who taught me plenty when i was first starting, Ernie Waits, Nelson Slater, Pete Frenzy, Marty Patch, Chris Walker, Steve Urosovich, Gary Pardon, Bobby Taylor,Richard S. Turner , Mic Bechtol, Stan Byrd, Dennis Dryer, Pete Wies, Bill Resinbeck, Jimmy Ibold, Big Joe Duskins, The DA DA band, The Menus, The Modulaters, The Tri-Tones, Midnight On Vine, and Heavy Metal Mondays at Bogarts Jack Daniels for a Dollar!!
