There has been considerable talk the past couple of years as to what really constitutes the "Colorado Sound."
Some folks liken it to the music of Slim Cessna, Munley, 16 Horsepower, Ghost Buffalo and other Goth-country acts. Sure, this style of Goth-country does seem to be unique to Colorado ... but we are sooooooo much more than that ...
The Colorado Sound encompasses nationally and internationally known acts and artists like:

The Colorado Sound is not a sound, so much as it is an expression of who we are ... it cannot be easily defined by a single genre or style.

Host Chris K., aka "goat," is no stranger to the Colorado music scene ... he has been on the air in Northern Colorado off and on since 1977, with on-air stints at KPAW (classic rock), KGLL (country), KCSU (public radio, Americana, rock & jazz shows), KSQI (AOR & AAA), KIMN (CHR / Hot AC), KUAD (Top 40 / AC) and more. He is arguably the first dj in NoCo to have ever played a rap record on the radio (KUAD - 1978) or in a mainstream, mass-appeal dance-club (Theo's, Greeley, 1978). ... and he has also performed as a musician throughout Colorado, either as a solo artist or in bands. Over the decades, Chris' articles, essays, criticisms, reviews, and editorials have appeared online and in local, regional and national publications like Scene Magazine, FMQB, the Album Network, GodsofMusic.com, Makeastar.com, C0nsensus.com and more. Chris also books bands into various venues regionally, has appeared on many regional stages as performer and/or emcee, and has done front of house sound and recording work.
Chris currently serves on the entertainment / talent advisory committees for the CHUN (Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods) People's Fair in Denver, and Bohemian Nights @ New West Fest in Fort Collins, CO. He is also the main-stage emcee at both events and the Ultimate Music Experience (Denver), and the main-stage stage manager for the People's Fair.
In 2008, Chris became more dedicated to helping Colorado music find its way to to those Colorado radio stations and print publications willing to air and write about Colorado music, and created the Rocky Mountain Music Network as the vehicle to do that. RMMN is also a regional event production and talent buying agency, responsible for the Carbon Valley Summer Music Festival (2008-current) and the Colorado talent at Bohemian Nights @ New West Fest (2007-current).
Chris K. has been a character in the music scene along the Front Range of Colorado in four decades now ... and despite the grass he chews on regularly, he shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
