The Color Audition, formerly the Synesthetes, is a band comprised of three kids from Tulsa, Oklahoma: Esten Hurtle (vocals, guitar, keyboards), JP Mensching (guitar, keyboards, vocals), and Michael Shorrosh (drums, and being awesome). We started way back in April 2006, with the lineup consisting of just Shorrosh and Esten (and a guy named Ryan Bartnik who played bass for us once). We tried to record a few songs and covers, but they turned out not so great. Enter JP. Shorrosh and Esten asked him to come over and jam, and we were amazed at his astounding awesomeness. He soon joined the band, and we began work on our first EP, The Destruckt-O-Disk. Along the way, JP and Esten figured out how to play the keyboard with amazing mediocrity. For awhile, Esten went somewhat crazy, recording techno tracks late into the June nights and early mornings. Eventually, we finished the EP, and it was released on November 21. Copies are always available. Ask about pricing (usually free). Our first live appearance was opening the Jenks High School talent show, on December 5, 2006. "Next Exit, Downtown" was played with great response. We are currently looking for more places to show off our awesome blend of pop/rock, indie, and experimental music.
