Jon's Guitar playing is similar to the White Stripes but is influenced by John Frusciante. Jon's singing is very intune and powerful. Ian's Bass riffs are similar to Flea of the Chili Peppers and also to Les Claypool. Mike's Drumming is a driving force that can not be stopped by any means. And of course our horns John Maurer, Caitlin Gormley, and Steve Young give us the boost we need to keep it intresting.
The Color Karma is a Funk Rock Jam Band out of the suburbs of Philadelphia. They are composed of Jonathan Macgregor on Guitar and Lead Vocals, Ian Bainbridge on Electric and Upright Basses and Vocals, Mike Ketchen on Drums, John Maurer on Trumpet, Caitlin Gormley on Alto Saxophone, and Steve Young on Baritone Saxophone. The Color Karma started out as a cover band then quickly switched to original music in February 2005. With the new sound came the name "Turtle Soup" which was the bands first name. After a year and a new demo the band changed the name to "The Color Karma" after name confusion with another "turtle soup" in New Jersey. The band has recorded a full EP that is available on iTunes. They have played at many venues in the Philadelphia area such as The Theatre of the Living Arts (TLA), The Troc, The Khyber, The Northstar Bar, and The Fire. As well as the Starland Ballroom in Sayersville, NJ and several Suburban venues. The Color Karma is starting recording on a new EP in early November and will be beginning to play new shows with a new look and feel.
