| Bio | THE COMEDIANS OF COMEDY,the critically acclaimed documentary which became the critically acclaimed Comedy Central six-episode series, will be continuing to tour the country. The Comedians of Comedy will once again be taking their risk-taking stand-up out of the comedy clubs and into rock clubs, theatres, and other indie venues. Most recently, they played to a packed tent of fans as the first comedy show to be asked to be a part of the world-famous Coachella Music Festival.
Created by Patton Oswalt in a whirlwind of rage, optimism and a sudden scare by a single bee, the CoC consists of a core of performers — Maria Bamford, Zach Galifianakis and Brian Posehn — all of whom have gained greater national exposure through the CoC film and TV show. Maria has released a second album (How to Win!) and Brian just released his first (Live In: Nerd Rage, on Relapse Records). Zach has released a concert DVD, Live at the Purple Onion, and has just directed and starred in a video for Kanye West. Patton’s new album, Werewolves and Lollipops (SubPop), became the 1 album on iTunes Comedy the day of its release, the 3812nd album on iTunes Hip-Hop, and the 17,912nd album on iTunes Speed Metal Inspirational.
Plus, all of them have been doing films and TV shows like they’re big shots or something. Brian’s a regular on The Sarah Silverman Program, Maria’s got her own SuperDeluxe.com show as well as being a regular on Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job!, and Zach appeared in Sean Penn's film Into the Wild, and starred in the indie feature Visioneers. Patton was the lead voice in Pixar’s Ratatouille. Please assume that, as of this being written (10/13/07) all four of them have done more TV and film. A quick visit to imdb.com will save us having to update this thing every time Patton books an Olive Garden commercial.
The Comedians of Comedy: Live at the Troubadour DVD featuring the core group of comedians along with a slew of very special guests was released October 2nd. This concert film will also premiere on Comedy Central.
