The Committee is a group of politically and socially conscious artists who met through their community work and common love of music. Originally starting off at UCLA in late 2004 with two MCs and one DJ, The Committee eventually evolved into a live hip hop band in the Summer of '06. Since then, they have performed at various festivals, colleges and clubs throughout Southern California, including FPAC, Soul Sessions, Blue Cafe and Fais Do Do, as well as opened up for acts such as Native Guns, Blue Scholars, Living Legends, Typical Cats and Roscoe Umali.
Drawing on many different influences, these MCs and musicians from all over California aim to educate and entertain. Blending conscious lyrics with soulful, uplifting sounds, they use music as a way to open eyes and elevate minds.
