關於 The Composure

In an environment where being "scene" is more important than being heard, The Composure turns their collective heads and create their own path. The Composure is a power-pop quartet hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The band was founded in 2006 by Paul Menotiades (Vocals/Guitar) and Jesse Hall (Guitar/Vocals). After adding drummer Cory Muro and bassist Andy Marks in late 2007 the band spent over 40 hours each week in Paul's basement working on their sound. "We treat this band like a job. Unless we have a show or a funeral to attend it is understood that we will practice," Menotiades says as a matter of fact. Menotiades learned at an early age that while practice doesn't necessarily make perfect, it is the only way to become great. He started touring internationally when he was 16 with Punchline, considerably one of the most successful bands to emerge from Pittsburgh. "When I started playing I was still in high school. We were signed and touring constantly. I saw our hard work payoff. Now, I'm older and better poised, more composed if you will, and I'm confident that the hard work that we're putting into The Composure will be rewarded." 
After posting some demos on their MySpace page, producer Marc McClusky contacted the band about working with them. After one year and 4 trips to Chicago, IL, The Composure has recorded just about enough songs to release a debut LP. Another payoff came when the legendary Mark Trombino (Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World, Midtown, and many more) heard the Chicago recordings and offered to mix the tracks for the band. "We were sitting around after practice one day and decided to email Trombino on a whim; we didn't expect a reply. He wrote back the next day and said he liked the songs and would absolutely like to work on our record. We were completely stunned." Menotiades adds with a smirk.

In July of 2009, The Composure and Jesse Hall parted ways in a mutual agreement on differences. The replacement is long-time friend Matt Fuchs, who had previously played and toured with Menotiades. With the addition, The Composure feels revitalized and looks forward to releasing an ep late 2009, as well as a three week self-booked winter tour.

The Composure makes no compromises when it comes to their music and their performance. They refuse to follow trends or change for their audience. The Composure is truly refreshing, as they only try to be themselves, not any more and not any less.
