About The Connecticut Blues Society

The Connecticut Blues Society is a non-profit organization, formed to support the community of blues fans and musicians in Connecticut. Many people are surprised that there is a blues community in Connecticut. In Chicago, Memphis, Detroit, St. Louis, even Boston, blues enthusiasts know where to go to participate in their music. Blues in Connecticut is less localized. On any Saturday night blues clubs around the state feature national, and as important, talented local blues bands who keep the blues alive. The Connecticut Blues Society promotes a sense of community through its newsletters, special events, and by serving as a forum where blues fans and blues musicians can find each other. We hope you enjoy this web page, but we also hope that you also get out and support the blues in Ct.

The Supertones	Feb 1 2009 7:28 AM Hey There Blues Society, big news heading into another great blues filled year! The Supertones just released two new songs!!! It's been a while but over winter intersession we were able to get into the basement studio we have been using to lay down a few of our latest and best originals. In Tim's absence, we had the distinguished honor of playing with Mike's talented younger brother, Eric, on drums! After a long month of January full of mixing and mastering, they are finally ready to be listened to by all of you great friends and fans!!! Nighttime Voodoo is a Jordan Hill special, completely writing and arranging all the music, lyrics, and structure. Straight up blues rock with heavy bass and raw vocals. Also, listen for the raw Slide Guitar stylings of Alex Wernquest and Dayne Laskey's tasteful. dirty organ! Put on headphones to hear the complete stereo effect of his new Hammond Organ! Runnin' is The Tone's first ever original shuffle. A fun riff brought up in a practice by Alex was jammed on for hours until Jordan had lyrics and melody matched with it perfectly. It is a fun one that came out better than any of us could have expected and possibly merits one of Jordan Hill's best studio vocal performances to date! Eric really spiced up the song with some refreshing jazzy swing drums. Please shower our comment board with feedback, let us know what you think!
