Badpick (Guitar), Matt-U (bass) and Sneaky(Guitar) started a band called SELTER...
In the begining they just played some covers for fun but when time started to pass and the boys got better with their instruments they wanted to find a drummer to play for real some stuff
and began to write their songs...
So during the winter of 2002 Sneaky made friends with a guy called Russell D, finding out that he knew a little bit of drums so he decided to let him in the band as the new drummer...
2003
Selter started to play some covers in Russell's garage till some creep called the police so they had to find a new place where to play some music...time went by and Russell D started to ask himself "why shouldn't we start something serious!? we're not so bad anyway...", so he talked with the rest of the guys and the idea sounded good for them too!
The name "Selter" didn't sound so good for Russell so he asked the guys if it was ok to change the name in The Coolaid (since it was his favourite drink when he was a little pain in the ass!) and the name sounded "cool" for the rest of the band...and Coolaid it was!
So in autumn 2003 the band was ready...wait a second...if Russell was the drummer who was the singer?! right? so sneaky thought "since Russell is half american and has a good accent why can't he sing!?" so Russell became the vocalist of the band...but wait again...who was the drummer now!?"...
2004
...Well in 2004 Russell meets a guy called Oggiano at his school and he discovers he knew how to play the drums so he talked with the rest of the band and asked the guys to check him out...
They all went to listen to Oggiano and he was pretty good for a starter so they decided to make him the drummer of the band! (Now the story gets good ;)
The Band made its 1st demo "Mystic Reverence".
2005
The band re-recorded their first “demo album” in summer 2005 and renamed it in “THE BLAST IS NOW OVER .After that they started getting some gigs...People liked their sound and they started to get well known...they came out on newspaper for their kickass shows in pubs and stuff like that...
2006
...They worked on new tracks and came out with a new demo album called "HEARTS ON FIRE", recorded during the summer...in the mean time Oggiano thought that focusing on a specific kind of music wasn't in his prerogatives of making music so he left the band...
The guys were sad to lose a good drummer like him but they didn't give up...
They kept on working on their music...A part time drummer (Tom from Dna71) joined tha band temporarly for some gigs...
2007
Finally in Feb 2007 they found this kid that was not bad at the drums so they went check him out...
the kid was very excited to try some stuff for The Coolaid...at the end of the "checkout" week the band decided to let him in...the new drummer (Matteo) was the youngest member of the band so they decided to nickname him "LiL Teo"!!!!
They played some shows in April, May, June, July here in Brindisi with Teo. But, despite the exciting beginning, he never fell like a real component of the band, although he was quite good at playing drums.
During the summer of 2007 the rest of the band (Sneaky, Matt, Bad and Russ) recorded a third demo album.
2008
Lil Teo is not part of The Coolaid anymore. Now the guys are checking some new drummers hoping to find the right one for this band.
Their third demo album, titled “OUR LAST CHANCE”, is almost ready and mixed and they hope to release it in summer/fall of this year...
2009
The band is taking a long break!
The Coolaid are not going to be together for a while...nobody fighted, it's just that we had different stuff on our mind...Badpick and Matt-U are going away for a while and Russell D, Sneaky and Jordan (the new drummer) decided to stay together. They formed a new band called 3Volts and they're recording a new cd with 12 tracks...hopefully they will start touring in 2010 in Italy and around Europe...as soon the new cd is ready they'll make a new myspace where u can listen to the tracks and buy the cd...stay tuned...coz u never know what life brings...maybe one day The Coolaid will be back ;) never stop ROCKIN'!!!!
