About me:
We're now on Facebook as well:
Look under The Cool Vibes Acoustic Diner

I'm going to start this profile off by saying the following: If you're an artist, and i've friended you, i have indeed listened to your music and liked it.

I go to great lengths to find good musicians to play on the show. HOWEVER, that being said....I will not actively persue you once you've been added on MySpace to play your music on the show. Only YOU can make that happen.

If you take time to listen to our program, and think your music fits in well...then by all means...

SEND IT TO US!!

From Artist Kierstin Gray
What is CVR? It's Cool Vibes Radio, here on myspace and it is a program dj'ed by Dylan Michaels who is an uber cool guy who is doing something dangerous on the airwaves.

What is he doing that's so dangerous??

He's supporting indie music. Not by just playing indie all day or plugging random artists he's never met...

He is making indie music relevant. By building playlists daily for people, weaving in solid independent music with mainstream and reviving the "culture" of the music fan, he offers you a little bit of the days when the music industry consisted of 6 "majors" and you sat next to the radio all day just to "tape" your favorite song off the radio. It is the radio show that any and every person can get into. And he's reaching more listeners every day.

Now, needless to say, I'm on there, but really, what this bulletin is about is supporting him. He has supported me with hundreds of plays and he has done the same for many many others. What's more, he is one of the most approachable, kind and decent people I have met in this industry. A really stellar human being.

He is a unique breed, and an endangered one at that. In a world that is becoming increasingly self-serving, he continues to put in the time, labor, thought and sincerity which is so often overlooked if not absent from the airwaves.

So flip your channel, on podcast to the Acoustic Diner, or even better, check out his myspace page and befriend him. Tell him how much his show matters. Tell him you're listening and you want more. Send your friends. Send your music. Be a part of a movement of bringing more humanity and class to the scene.

But most importantly: lean back and enjoy the tunes. at work. at play. every day.

From Artist Tom Malm (Tom Malm & The Arm Band)
I'm a huge fan of Cool Vibes Acoustic Diner.

It reminds me of the way I used to listen to music when I was in High School - especially Sunday nights when Gene Shay would come on WMMR and introduce me to so much great music.

We're going back to the 1970's when DJ's would find great stuff and play it.

. . . it wasn't forced by demographics, polls, charts, ratings, rakings, styles, or formats.

So . . . along comes Dylan and this very cool radio show that he podcasts. I put my headphones on at work, click play, and am always surprised by the stuff he discovers.

It's "Acoustic Diner" - he pulls music from all over the world - and even though I have some "electric" in my normal musical offerings, he has been a very strong supporter of me and music I play. I'm on again today

If you're a fan of original undiscovered music, you especially enjoy [the music]

"With over 8,000 subscribers worldwide and growing every day, The Acoustic Diner is looking for great new talent to share with the world!

My goal is simple. Share the music.

If you're a musician, and find you lean more towards the acoustic side of life.... (doesn't have to be straight acoustic, just no death metal please)

THEN THE DINER WANTS TO SERVE YOU TO THE MASSES!!!
(not in an "ALIVE!" kind of way..but a "hey...we want to play you on our show" kind of way)

Send me an email with an mp3 and a short blurb about you or your band, and we'll be happy to have you as a "Featured Dish" on the Acoustic Diner

So Email Dylan....all the cool kids are doing it.

The Cool Vibes Acoustic Diner

Still in its infancy, the Cool Vibes Radio Program was born of a need to fill the void left by existing terrestrial radio. The two-hour show, which airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, provides a convenient dose of first-class acoustic rock. Dylan guarantees every program to be overflowing with live and rare acoustic performances, artist interviews, special in-studio guests and more random music knowledge than you can handle. The show is posted to Podomatic.com at noon eastern time.

The show's content spans approximately 5 decades, with recent selections including everything and anything acoustic from Asia, Eva Cassidy and bluegrass-styled Van Halen, to The Killers, The Weepies, and Plain White T's. This program is full of rare gems that many self-proclaimed acoustic lovers probably knew ever existed, all wrapped up in a musically delicious two-hour package.

Dylan recently was quoted in an interview saying;

- “I know how hard it is to get people to take notice and listen. My job is to make sure that not only are they heard, but given the same chance as the established artists we play on the show. In this modern age, if people would stop watching the joke that is American Idol for more than a minute, they would see truly talented people all around them.”

"Most recently, i found a whole slew of new and amazing talent on MySpace. Those who have followed my career from town to town know i'm a big fan of the new guys! So i'm happy to take any and all mp3 from acoustic minded groups! The world needs to know that "American Idol" does nothing for the music world! and that's where guys like me step in with a guitar slung across my back" -

Most recently, Michaels has become a champion for indie artists worldwide. Offering acoustic musicians from all walks of life refuge in the Diner. Everyone has an equal shot to be a “Featured Dish”.

Dylan Michaels is originally from the "Town that Rocked the Nation", Philadelphia, PA, although his radio career has allowed him to see numerous parts of the country throughout his 15-year tenure. He's back home today in suburban Philadelphia, doing what he loves best - sharing the music.
