The Cord is a band who love to make meaningful, intelligent, thought-provoking music. Just say "no" to cliches and "yes" to inventive folk-twinged indie rock.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE CORD...
“…beautiful music and amazing harmonies…”
--Jeff Capps, recording artist
“Christine, Elizabeth, and Jennifer all bring a creative intelligence and spirit into a craft that is dying—folk music. And they do it with mystery and a lot of heart…they [are] fresh and beautiful about their alternativeness. They possess spirit, not loathsome agony. And they maintain an independence that steers clear from the indie smugness dominating the circuit…While the lyrics of songs like “Amazed” and “Beloved” could easily allude to worship, there is just enough ambiguity to also allow them to be devotions to the spirit of relationships and divinity that surrounds a bodily love…All meaning aside, The Cord is divinely inspired, if not awe inspiring. Having maintained low-key success throughout the state, it seems that will be short-lived…”
--Kathryn Salter, Encore Magazine, Wilmington, NC
“I am eagerly awaiting the next album and have already placed my order for 20 copies. Jennifer, Liz, and Christine are extremely talented and their music has a special way of touching people. The lyrics are God-honoring and extremely deep. For instance, their song “Purpose” reminds me of something that C.S. Lewis would have written…I am very picky about using superlatives with musical artists, but his band is truly gifted, passionate…”
--John Posey, entrepreneur, President of The Cord Fan Club
“The Cord is amazing! I’ve been blowin’ this CD up in here, and everyone loves it!” [paraphrased]...
THE REAL THING: "Sometimes I listen to music and enjoy it.
When I listen to the Cord I FEEL it and I LIVE it.
you are truly amazing!"
