This is The Corner Bar of Kalamazoo michigan's real myspace account!!! We feature all genre's of local and regional music (Rock/Indie/Metal/Country/Bluegrass/Blues/Emo/Techno/Folk ect..)
We pride ourselves on our amazing staff, our good food, the wide variety of different beers and liquors we offer, and of course the bands that come through and play each night and the fans that come to support!!! We are currently booking Wendsdays - Saturdays. Show usually starts at 10:00 PM.
we're not a record label...we're not an online store...and not just some rag covering the same few popular bands like most every major publication around. THat's Right -- We 'd raTher SpEnd our time covering artists you probably have never heard of before. As our motto goes : " WE PROUDLY SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC" and that's mostly what you'll find here. Sure we may drop a line about a well known band or do an interview with a signed act---we got nothing against that, BUT we are more interested in bands that are still luggin' their shit around in the back of a car they couldn't even sell two years ago. **SOME commonly asked questions:
Q. what is the age limit??
A. 21+ except on wednesdays it is 18+. There are times that we might make exceptions or allow a DD or two in, but unless noted it is a 21+ show.
Q.What is the corner bar's address
A: 1030 E vine st kalamazoo,MI 49001. On the corner of vine st and mills st.
Q: Why is there a cover charge
A: that is how our bands get paid so quit whinning about paying $5.00 to see THREE+ bands.....support your local music : )
Q: What are local promoters?
A: Kalamazoo gazette (the ticket), western herald, Recoil, Review, and for radios stations I would go with 92.5, 107.7 and 103.3..I am sure there are more but that is all I can think of off the top of my head.
Q:Do we make flyers or you!
A: You make them and send them to us at the bar and our hot wait staff will hang them all around kalamazoo.
