  • Bio

The Corn Fed Girls can best be described with a simple statement: Heartwarming acoustic music with enduring themes that capture the imagination and fill the soul. They possess a unique ability to inject their live show with humor while performing original songs that simultaneously challenge and comfort the listener. Their instrumental line up can be considered traditional however their musical arrangements most certainly span the gap between old and new, and sharing the lead vocal duties between all six members of the band definitely puts them in a league all their own. Darcy Wilkin plays rhythm guitar while Sarah Fuerst keeps time on the upright bass. Ira Cohen’s banjo style blends perfectly with Phil Barry’s innovative lead guitar work. Rounding out the group are John Campos on mandolin and Mike Fuerst on fiddle. Their personal ties span decades and they have common bonds of family and musical influence. While Kalamazoo Michigan is usually called home, they have been known to hang their hats in many places, actively touring the Midwest. The Corn Fed Girls weave a musical cloth that is durable and comfortable; familiar yet mysterious. Their first album cornstar is now available at shows and online at CDBaby.com .. ..
