The Cottonweeds are a Prince George based roots group featuring Raghu Lokanathan and Jeremy Stewart. For the past year, we've been hammering our set into shape with a weekly gig at a local restaurant. We began with a common desire to explore and interpret American folk songs. We've chosen material that ranges in tone from the sacred to the gutbucket-y. Our sound includes harmony singing, acoustic guitar, banjo, and a shot of jaw harp. Lately, we've thrown storytelling, originals, and songs by BC songwriters into the pot. We're keen to hit the road, do the festivals and sing ourselves hoarse.
First the good news ... i'll see ya tommorow! The not as great news, i lost my visa, which meant i couldn't rent the car to take Andy Mason, and Joey Only. So i'll see ya tommorow, and we'll make a great night happen!
