The Courts is a new novel from playwright and screenwriter Todd Bailey. He resides in Burlington, NJ
with his wife and two children.
His simplistic approach to modern day fiction gives the reader a freshtake on some of the days most topical
issues. In this spellbinding work, he dives into complex situations with compelling characters dealing with
low self esteem, sexual assault and the acceptance of family.
He is a man of many faces who has worked on the stage, behind the camera and in the studio recording original music. A former student of Point Park College (Pittsburgh, PA) and the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute (NY, NY) he currently works as an Independent COntractor in Riverton, NJ.
Who I'd like to meet:
When senior Brad McKenzie graduates from a suburban Philadelphia high school he spends one last road trip at his brothers college with his best friend Tim Pfifer.
Secrets the two have been concealing from everyone for the past six months come to life when Brad tells his story of how an attacker who raped fellow classmate Kelly Sanchez at The Courts, a run down basketball court under the turnpike bridge where all night parties take place, wound up dead.
A coming of age piece which guides us through parallel stories of the McKenzie Brothers and spans over two years of struggle and eventual failure. We cross the mainland United States with Brad leaving everything behind to make it in Hollywood, California as an actor or musician. He is left with nothing except the love of his family and the harshest of realities.
A horrific incident leads us to believe that although sometimes we feel we have mended our past we are always just a moment away from where we started. For Brad, that is The Courts.
Friend Space (Top 7)
The Courts: Some Secrets Should Never Be Kept... has 44 friends.
Awww, thanks, bro. You make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! You're one to talk, Mr Author. By the way, how is the book doing? I have to get my copy. I promise, as soon as work dies down, I'll buy a copy and read it over the holidays. That's about the only free time I might get this year. Yes, we love OBX. We usually travel there every couple years or so. Take care, bud!
