May 2008; Emerging from Canada's capital of Ottawa, THE COURTSHIP dedicates 110% of their lives to the music they create. Combining catchy riffs, punchy drumming, and sing song lyrics The Courtship seeks nothing but perfection. With the love of music and the will to get further and further each day, this band of 5 does not take what is given or worked for, for granted. With a goal to speak to every age category The Courtship hopes to deliver well thought out songs with meaning, feeling, and enough balls to make yours seem small! With an array of influences ranging from Poison the Well, Motley Crue, and Every Time I Die, this quintette of power could not be any more excited to show the world what heart, talent, experience, and what rock can do to ones self!
Since the beginning of the group they had the pleasure to share the stage with such bands as, EVERY TIME I DIE, MAYLENE AND THE SONS OF DISASTER, BURY YOUR DEAD, TOO PURE TO DIE, and DEAD AND DIVINE. Winning the 2009 WARPED TOUR Ernie Ball: Battle of the Bands the band then made a commitment to see themselves on that tour once again someday. As proof of their hard work and dedication, The Courtship alongside close friends Texas with a Dollar Sign have self produced and sold 1000 copies of their split EP titled 'COMPLETE PROTECTION OF THE LIVING DEAD.'
Since hitting the road late summer of '09 and getting a taste for blood, The Courtship currently is working towards a full length album with the intentions of showing the world their maturity as musicians, their dedication to produce the best arrangments possible, and that they deserve to be heard! After the release of the currently untitled full length, there will be nothing stopping The Courtship from hitting the road full time and making something of themselves. So keep your eyes peeled and ears perked because there is plenty of stuff on the way from team Courtship! ROCK ON!
