BOOKING:
Booking requests through this myspace can be done, but are not checked that frequently.
For bands who have never played the court, you will be asked to do a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday night show in order for us to get a feel for you and your draw (we understand it is not easy to draw on a Mon-Wed and we take that into account...we mainly just want to get a feel for you). But these are not "try outs". We also host residencies for more established local bands to work out the kinks on new material or just have a place to play. Touring Bands: If you are coming through town Sunday-Thursday, please email: HubCityBooking@gmail.com or call the bar from 10am-6pm est. - 732-545-7265. Let them know when your coming through and they will direct you as to who to contact.
PROMOTION:
Promotion for all shows is not only expected, but it is absolutely necessary. We are more then happy to put up posters and any other promo you drop off or mail us. Please mail all promo to: The Court Tavern, ATTN: Promo, 124 Church St. New Brunswick NJ 08901. There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.

Hi Guys- congrats on the new film! Just saw the article in the AP Press. About time you got this kind of recognition.
I also have a blog series (available as a pdf as well) on my site about JP Gotrock and those old days which features the Court. And Neal Schwartz came to see me in my current band Chik-A-Boom in Belmar a few months back and sat in with us- first time I'd seen him since Dave Shearn passed.
