..The Coward and The Pelican originated as a basement-bound musical adventure combining the songs of Philippe (le saltimbanque) on guitar and the beats of his brother Etienne (le sage) on drums. The pair realized they would need to summon some more musicians. With the addition to the group of their sister Evelyne (la douce) on piano and vocals, of their cousin Carmen (la bohème) on violin and of their good friends Simon (l'oreille) on flute and Emma on trumpet, the newly formed group was ready to make magic happen. .. .. We write our songs in both english and french, because we are the products of our environment... of our home, the city of Montreal.
