Trevor Lee of The Cranes Are Flying unites intelligent, carefully-crafted lyrics reminiscent of Iron & Wine, Bon Iver, or Pedro the Lion with compelling rhythms and sophisticated electronica arrangements evocative of Thom Yorke, Zero 7, or Bjork.
In November 2008, The Cranes Are Flying released its debut five-song EP album, "Family Friendly Radio," for sale locally through Papa Jazz in Columbia, South Carolina. The album was released digitally in January of 2009. The Cranes followed up with the release of its second five-song EP "Banging My Head" on June 30, 2009. Both albums are available for download from various online outlets (iTunes, Amazon MP3, eMusic, Rhapsody, Napster, Lala, Shockhound, IMVU, Limewire, and Amie Street -- see links on left) and in CD form through Amazon On Demand and locally through Papa Jazz.
The song "Fingertips" received the honor of being tapped for inclusion in the soundtrack of an independent art film scheduled for production in 2009 and for release in 2010. (Details are not yet releasable to the public.)
The normally reclusive Trevor gave four energetic live performances throughout the Carolinas during the spring and summer of 2009 and is currently on sabbatical once again, but might be coaxed into more shows if the right opportunity presents itself.
Thanks for dropping by ... let Trevor know what you think by leaving a comment or by emailing him at thecranesareflying@ymail.com. Thanks for your support!
(Thanks to Robert Owens for the awesome artwork.)
