Sounds Like
It varries from the sentimental i.e eagles to the mental like Slade to the down right absurd i.e the clangers but rest assured however the music sounds one thing is agreed upon that boy needs therapy!!
Born while under extreme pressure to find a way to express my creativity in a positive manner, rather than thrashing on my guitar till I wished the wall would open up and swallow me whole! It occurred to me even though I wasn’t making any great leaps to carry on what I failed at doing previously, which was to write as much as I could. From the countryside around Devon to jotting down my angst or whilst stuck in a hellish traffic jams on the M25!!!
First and foremost I became a prolific non offensive rapper why? Only god knows!!! It took some time but I honed my talent in being able to waffle without people realizing that it was waffle they were reading! I never would have dreamed that all my aimless writing would lead somewhere as prestigious like this. I feel very privileged as I’m sure a lot of artists do and every song I write if I don’t feel like it is giving enough to the casual listener, I will bin it!!! But fear not these days all my songs are written on the computer, because my mind changes so much and also copy and paste is a great tool when used properly!!!
It was never going to be easy but at least I have a name to be berated or celebrated with which is all I really wanted from the off!!
To those of you who believe your time will never come I just got say believe in what you’re doing, never give up, don’t sell yourself short and if you do sell out make sure it’s enough money for a comfortable retirement for you and the people who have stood by you whether it’s the strongest nastiest icy cold wind or the coolest summer breeze!!!!
God Bless and Thanks for reading this dross!!! :) The Crazy Majority
What others have said about The Crazy Majority's music:
Crack
"The brainchild of Briton Martin Sherlock the Crazy Majority is a crazy, fun-filled and uplifting ska outfit. With that distinctive ska-style vocal, they deliver an infectious rhythm with catchy lyrics and some great brass. And no, this is not a drug song! Stylistically it refers back more to the original Jamaican ska than to the new wave of 80's ska that enveloped the UK. As a result it has a refreshing and honest feel that will find a home somewhere deep inside your head."
(Matchboxradio)
"This light, humorous, catchy number is not about drugs. A distinct sound with an unmistakable vocal for lovers of Ska. I particularly like the change in the second section, it comes as a surprise and fits the song perfectly. Well put together, played and produced and mixed up, nice one."
(Virtualradioshow)
"A great song and a nice overall production and mix - this song works very well indeed, and on many levels, from rhythmic to lyrical to musical. He can write a cute lyric,a decent melody and is not far off from achieving his dreams!"
(Famegamesradio)
"Really like this - nice and quirky, with some clever lyircs. Makes me think of madness, and the ordinary boys, due to its energy and general bounciness. Can imagine this being a great song to see live, as people are bouncing off the walls!"
FRIZZ RECORDS is proud to announce our fourth LP release...
London-born with a heritage both European and Ghanaian, LEILA ADU was brought up in New Zealand, and is now based in Rome
She has been described as 'A Nina Simone for the Noughties', and her two acclaimed albums infuse a broadly 'art-rock' approach with elements of torch song, speakeasy blues, avant garde jazz, gamelan, the post-rock textures of Slint and Tortoise, and a David Lynch style dreamlike b-movie melodrama. As her website has it, exploring the "dissonant edges of familiar forms", but with that kind of 'dissonance' that they once accused Thelonious Monk or Debussy of, the kind that soon betrays it's own compelling melodic and harmonic logic to the attentive listener...
'Dark Joan', Leila's third album as a solo artist, was recorded in Chicago with the legendary Steve Albini (PJ Harvey, Joanna Newsome, Nirvana, Pixies), and Albini's genius has been to strip her sound back to it's essence, and hold it's most distinctive qualities up to the light. It doesn't hurt that this is by far Leila's most powerful set of songs to date, and if anything we are lead even deeper into her world by the pictures painted with just piano (or in some cases harpsichord or a grime-encrusted electric piano) and that voice...
Capable of anything from delicate heartbreaking purity to a fearsome dramatic power, her powers are seemingly limitless, yet unlike most other singers of her calibre, never does she resort to melodrama or show-boating, or any kind of pastiche, instead she employs her resources fully in the expression of her distinctive musical vision and the deep well-spring of her imagination. Nothing ever sounds as though it could have not been sung...
