Dear folks,

Davey has just come back to the big smoke Fresh from Dublin where he's been mixing our 3rd album 'Listen to seashells; they know everything' with Jack Knife Lee's right hand man - Tom Mcfall - a true scholar and gentleman who has done a cracking job mixing it all together - check out some of the tracks on Myspace - more on that later...

Happy New Year and all that. We're happy to announce that we've got two kick ass shows coming up at Austin's South by Southwest. We didn't quite have to move heaven and earth in order to do these shows but definitely a couple of rings on Saturn and maybe the Moon... but dammit it was worth it in the end and we're delighted that Tara Egan-Langley (who incidentally sang the brilliant backing vocals on the new album) will be joining us on stage in Texas.

The first show is an acoustic set on Wednesday 18th at the Dog & Duck pub in Austin - It's Pop Culture Press Party and should be a blast, we'll be on about 4pm.

The second is our main showcase and is at Rio in Austin at midnight on Saturday the 21st March and with any luck it'll be a corker. Our last show at South by Southwest prompted this response (among some other great reviews) from a fella down the front wearing a yellow macintosh:

"I am a painter/singer-songwriter you met in Austin, TX. Your band left a deep impression on me and my current work. I don't believe I've met a cooler bunch of musicians since I've lived in Austin and going to shows. Davey was really nice. Anyway, I am working on two portrait paintings of the band. One will be huge, and the other will be a medium size that I will mail to you guys as soon as its finished. When are you guys coming back to TEXAS?"
Though I'm afraid to date we never recieved the forementioned paintings...

Also we've recently had another batch of Davey's book 'Unamazing Disgraces' printed up and ready for you for £6 which includes postage and packaging. If you fancy it send a cheque for £6 payable to The Crimea along with your name and address to: The Crimea 17 Bergholt Mews, London NW1 0BH and we'll get your copy out to you in a jiffy (bag) drum roll. cymbal crash.

So lot's imminently on the horizon, shows, naked dancing and tambourine playing, we'll keep you posted.
